"The McCordick family originated in Scotland.  One member moved to County Donegal, in North[ern] Ireland. One son Robert 1795-1871 came to Canada at age 17, worked for a Newcombe in New Brunswick, where he married Maria Fletcher 1805-1882, of New Brunswick U.E.L. stock.  When their eldest son, James, was 12 they moved to Yarmouth Twp., near St Thomas, Ont. About 10 years later James moved to Bosanquet Twp., where he married Hannah Dawson and raised eight children of whom the sixth was Francis who married Agnes Campbell."
