Delaware was the first township in Middlesex County to be settled, in 1793 by Ethan Allan, son of Ebenezer Allan, and his brother-in-law Jasper Crow.

 
Mt Brydges, Caradoc, Middlesex, ON, CA

Village on the road from Delaware to Strathroy and very near the centre of Caradoc township.  It was established in 1852 and named after Charles John Brydges the Managing Director of the Great Western Railway because this was the highest elevation on the main line from London to Windsor.
