A "Return of the Number of Inhabitants of Cumberland Distinguishing the Heads of Families, Those Below and of Age" more particularly Acadians Settled In Elysiam Fields, McCan and Nepan"(sic) a Nova Scotia Historical return for 1791 (Nova Scotia Archives and Record Management) shows John Glenie as head of his family, 4 males and 2 females under age and 1 male 1 female of age. "The government List of Cumberland County, N.S., Canada Town Officers for 1789 for the District of "The Rivers - Elizian Fields, McCan & Nappan Etc-"(Nova Scotia Archives and Record Management) shows John Glenie as one of three Assessors for The Rivers (transcribed from the original document by Diane Shaw in 1995). "From Old Parochial Registers, County of Fife, Parish of Leslie, Scotland, Book 2 for the period 1764 to 1819, Page 31 for the year 1787 gives "John Glennie Factor for Colonel Douglas of Strathendrie and Ann Fernie his wife had their son William born February 19th 1787 and baptized the Sabbath immediately thereafter by the Rev. Mr. George Willis Minister of the Gospel at Leslie". This was the last of John's children to be born in Scotland before moving to Nova Scotia."
